Thursdays are Spelling Days!
MOM LOVE YOU. LETS HAVE PEACE
This is how Gabe’s session began. He was looking straight at me and I saw him wipe away a tear. In his previous spelling session he shared some difficult feelings. The last thing he shared that day was
SORRY NOT ENOUGH. HARD FEELING STOPS LOVE.
I left that session in tears. He was mad at me and wasn’t ready to move on yet even though I was. I had mixed feelings during that session. Devastated to have caused him to feel this way, but so proud of him for being open and honest. Many adults are not able to express themselves as clearly as Gabe can. It was the most amazing feeling when he began the session today by telling me he loves me and let’s have peace. I have never had conversations like this with him before. I think this might be the first time he spelled the words LOVE YOU MOM. This is the best Mother’s Day gift I could have ever imagined!
Ingrid asked Gabe why he thinks it’s important to go back and reflect on certain situations.
GROW
We talked more about the climbing gym. He said he likes to go there because of FRIENDS. VIBES GET IN SYNC
He shared that he feels the vibes of the others.
I asked him if he wanted to join a new activity called Basketball Fundamentals. He said he did!
After talking about friends, Ingrid asked him about what comes to mind when he thinks about “bonding .”
